GWM PH introduces new extended warranty, to launch new models this year

2 min read

GWM Philippines, under the distributorship of Luxuriant Automotive Group, Inc. (LAGI), may seem to have been quiet compared to other Chinese automakers since they launched locally last year, but they’ve actually been quite busy expanding their network. This year will surely be different though.

The Chinese automaker announced during a Chinese New Year dinner with members of the local motoring media and content creator community their goals for 2024 which includes new dealerships, a longer warranty for its models, and new models in its local lineup.

New dealerships and longer vehicle warranties

First, the company is targeting to have 20 dealerships operational before the year ends. There are no specifics yet as to where these are located but according to them, many of these are already currently undergoing construction, and some are already operational.

The second bit of news is a new and longer warranty for its vehicles. Customers will now be able to take advantage of 7-year or 200,000 kilometer bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 10-year or 1,000,000 kilometer powertrain warranty for all its internal combustion engine (ICE)-powered models. Customers who purchase a hybrid model will also be able to take advantage of an additional 8-year or 200,000 kilometer battery warranty

The Chinese automaker will also be introducing two new additional models to its lineup on top of the Ora 03 fully electric hatchback which was already previewed last year, and is set to be officially launched at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

The first new addition to the lineup is the Haval Menglong, also known as the Haval Raptor, a compact off-road crossover SUV. The second new model arriving in the market will be the Wey Gaoshan luxury MPV which will fight with the soon-to-launch GAC M8, and even the extremely popular Toyota Alphard. Gaoshan stands for high mountain in Chinese.

Given how popular the GWM brand is in our ASEAN neighbor Thailand, we’re definitely excited to see what else they have in store for us. Here’s to hoping everything goes well.
