Geely’s Zeekr set to enter PH market under Autohub Group
The number of new Chinese brands entering the Philippine market has grown over the past few years and it continues this year as more are preparing to launch ahead of this year’s edition of the Manila International Auto Show, happening next month.
One new brand that has just announced its arrival is Zeekr which will be distributed by the Autohub Group, one of the largest dealer companies in the country. The entry of the Chinese automaker was announced at Autohub’s 25th anniversary celebrations held over the weekend.
Zeekr is a premium EV brand, owned by the Geely Holding Group, the parent company of the Geely brand which has seen much success in the market since it re-entered the market in 2019. The brand was founded in 2021 and was positioned to compete with brands like Tesla, and currently has a presence in China and Europe.
“We are thrilled to enter into this partnership with the Autohub Group,” says Chen Yu, Vice President at Zeekr. “The Philippines represents a key market for Zeekr, and we believe that the Autohub Group’s strong market presence and commitment to sustainability make them the perfect partner to help us bring our innovative products to Filipino customers.”
Zeekr’s entry into the Philippine market will be marked by the launch of two new models, the Zeekr 001 shooting brake and Zeekr X subcompact crossover, both of which will come with two variants.
