MIAS 2024: Lynk & Co makes public debut in PH with 01 and 06

3 min read

A couple of weeks ago, we were given a first glimpse at what to expect from the Lynk & Co brand once they officially make their Philippine launch. The launch has happened at no less than the 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

Under the distributorship of United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), the same company behind the local operations of Foton and Chery, as well as BAIC which is also launched at the motor show, Lynk & Co is a collaboration between Volvo and Geely, aimed at premium car buyers.

The local launch of Lynk & Co is marked by the entry of two models, the 06, 05, and 01 PHEV. Unsurprisingly, these are all crossovers. All these share a similar design language with Aurora Borealis LED daytime running lights and Energy Cube LED taillights.

Lynk & Co 06

The brand’s entry-level model is the 06 which is available in two variants—the Hyper Pro and Hyper Halo. This will compete in the very much in-demand subcompact crossover segment with the likes of the Honda HR-V, Toyota Yaris Cross, and even its own sibling from Geely, the Coolray.

Powering the Lynk & Co 06 is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine that makes 180 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

For safety, it will come equipped with a full suite of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS), comprising of Forward Collision Warning with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Change Assistance, and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Traffic Jam Assist.

Pricing for the Lynk & Co 06 starts at Php 1,488,000 for the Hyper Pro variant and Php 1,598,009 for the Hyper Halo variant.

Lynk & Co 05

Next in the local Lynk & Co lineup is the 05 fastback crossover. Its bodystyle is similar to that of the BMW X6 and Volvo C40 Recharge. This one is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that makes 251 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission

While it isn’t their flagship model, the Lynk & Co 05 is the most expensive model in the brand’s local lineup with a retail price of Php 2,748,000

Lynk & Co 01 PHEV

And let’s talk about the brand’s flagship model, the Lynk & Co 01. Of course, electrification is in the company’s plans which is why this is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).

The 01 also shares its Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform with the Volvo XC40 and C40 Recharge, Polestar 2, and the Geely Monjaro.

It is powered by the combination of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with an electric motor and lithium-ion battery. It produces a combined output of 262 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed (wet) dual-clutch transmission (DCT). It has a full-electric driving range of 69 kilometers and can be charged using a Type 2 charger, making it compatible with most charging stations in the country.

Pricing for this model is set at Php 2,338,000

Warranty and Availability

All Lynk & Co customers will be able to take advantage of a five-year or 150,000 kilometer general vehicle warranty, with an additional eight-year or 200,000 kilometer warranty for the electric motor and lithium-ion battery of the 01 PHEV.

The brand’s first dealership is located in Alabang, Muntinlupa City under the management of Auto Icon, a company that manages several dealerships from multiple brands in the area.
