Suzuki PH has listened! Auto-shifting S-Presso now available for Php 660K

2 min read

You asked, and they listened. After much clamor from customers, Suzuki Philippines has finally introduced an automatic-shifting version of its very popular entry-level S-Presso hatchback, launched today.

Ever since it was first introduced locally three years ago, customers were limited to purchasing a manual transmission equipped Suzuki S-Presso. While that is good for first-time and newbie car buyers, some people who wanted the convenience of a clutchless drive would have to look elsewhere. Thankfully, that will no longer be the case.

Now the automatic version of the S-Presso won’t have a regular automatic transmission. Instead, it will get Suzuki’s Auto Gear Shift (AGS) transmission that we also see on the Dzire subcompact sedan and Celerio hatchback. This is essentially a 5-speed manual transmission that shifts on its own. That means we get the performance and efficiency of a manual transmission, and the convenience of an automatic.

Of course, the S-Presso AGS remains powered by the same 1.0-liter Inline 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated gasoline engine that produces 67 horsepower and 90 Nm of torque.

As for other new features in the S-Presso AGS (that also apply to the GL M/T), it gets the Special Edition variant’s 14-inch two-tone alloy wheels as standard, a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and steering wheel audio and bluetooth controls. Unique to the AGS are Engine Automatic Start and Stop (EASS).

The Suzuki S-Presso AGS is now available at authorized Suzuki Auto Philippines dealerships with a suggested retail price of Php 660,000.
