The 60th Anniversary Toyota Corolla Cross Z Adventure looks like a baby RAV4

Back in May, we reported that Toyota is celebrating 60 years of the humble Corolla nameplate by releasing a handful of special editions for the Japanese market. We’ve seen the Corolla Sedan and Corolla Touring (wagon) get their respective special editions, and it’s now the turn of the Corolla Cross.

Unlike the sedan and the touring, the 60th Anniversary Corolla Cross gets a special Z Adventure trim that echoes its bigger RAV4 Adventure sibling. Being a top-of-the-line trim, it gets all the bells and whistles, such as those special adaptive LED headlights, a panoramic glass roof, but the exterior changes are something worth desiring.

Coming in either Black Mica, Urban Khaki (as seen), Mudbath, or Platinum White Pearl, all with a black roof, it gets a redesigned front bumper that swaps out chrome for a more rugged “meteor coat” textured finish that can be expanded to the other parts of the car, and gets larger grille openings with a gloss black strip for the blacked-out Corolla emblem. You can even option it with an old-school “TOYOTA” emblem if you want to.

There is a three-bar design front and rear bumper garnish finished in Metal Stream Metallic, other blacked out elements in the badging and the roof rails, alongside wearing matte gray 17-inch alloy wheels with black lug nuts, which mimic the design of the RAV4 Adventure. Plus, there are 60th Anniversary emblems on the left and right front fenders.

The interior gets a two-tone, dual-finish synthetic leather and fabric upholstery for its seats, and the chrome elements are finished in smoked chrome. Other than that, the interior mostly remains unchanged.
The Corolla Cross in Japan is powered by the same Toyota Hybrid System that we get here, mating a 1.8-liter 2ZR-FXE engine that makes 98 horsepower and 142Nm of torque, paired to an electric motor and lithium-ion battery. It has a combined system output of 122 horsepower. However, Japan gets the option for the e-Four all-wheel-drive system, adding an extra electric motor in the rear that adds 41 horsepower and 84Nm to the output.

While chances of other countries getting this special Corolla Cross model are slim, this is easily one of the more desirable special editions from the 60th Anniversary lineup so far. Do you want Toyota Motor Philippines to introduce this to our market, if they can?
