The GAC Aion UT officially launches in the compact EV segment for Php 1.068-M

GAC Philippines is going on the offensive with the introduction of its electric vehicles. It covered the high-end and the family-oriented crossover segment with the Hyptec HT and Aion V. Now, it’s tackling the entry-level small EV segment with the Aion UT.

This adorable compact electric hatchback, according to its marketing, “radiates Big Car Energy”, and it’s true with its large 2,750mm wheelbase that grants the passengers 905mm of legroom, alongside a large 440L trunk space.

However, there’s no front trunk, as that’s occupied by the single electric motor that produces 136 horsepower and 145Nm of torque. There’s a 44.12kWh LFP magazine battery that’s good for up to 400km (NEDC) on a single charge, and 64kW DC fast charging brings the battery from 30 to 80% in around 24 minutes, alongside Vehicle-to-Load capabilities.

Thanks to its Milanese Aesthetics, the vehicle has a distinct-looking “winky eye” signature for the LED headlights with the four-dot DRL acting as the turn signals, 16-inch wheels, and a friendly-looking rear end with the C-shaped LED taillights.

It’s available in five colors, which are Champs-Elysees Beige, Emerald Green, Rococo White, Seine Silver, and a two-tone Rococo White + Emerald Green

The all-black interior with manually adjustable fabric seats has an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, plus a suite of advanced driver assistance systems like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, blind spot monitoring, including a 360-degree camera.

It comes in one variant—Elite—and it’s priced at Php 1,068,000. However, there’s an introductory discount until June 30 that brings the price down to Php 998,000, alongside a special promo discount of Php 20,000 for the first 400 units.
