Suzuki reveals facelifted Swift

The small hatchback receives some minor updates for 2020.

Suzuki has given its Swift small hatchback a minor update for 2020. It gets some minor cosmetic updates, new technology, and new safety features. This comes a few days after a Japanese brochure leak found its way online.

Starting on the exterior, the 2020 Swift gets choices of a new diamond-pattern or honeycomb grille depending on the variant. The grille has also been updated with a new horizontal chrome bar running across it. There are also a new set of alloy wheel designs. The rear on the other hand doesn’t get any visible changes. There are also two new color choices for the exterior, orange and yellow.

Ssd The interior gets some minor updates as well. While it mostly remains the same, there is a visible new fabric seat pattern. The instrument cluster is also updated with a new multi-color multi-information display.

As for new safety tech, the Swift can be optioned with Suzuki Safety Support. This safety suite includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, blindspot monitoring, and lane-keep assist. It also gets traffic sign recognition and automatic headlights.

Under the hood, it still gets the same 1.2-liter gasoline engine with 90 hp and 118 Nm of torque, paired to a continuously variable transmission, for the Japanese market. The Philippine-spec version of the engine produces a lower 82 hp and 113 Nm of torque.

There is no news yet as to whether we will be getting this update in the Philippines. Suzuki Swift units in our country are sold in Thailand. Once it is launched there then we could get an idea of what kind of updates we’ll be getting.
