All is set for the 2nd leg of the 2024 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup this weekend

Everything is set for the second leg of the 2024 Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup (formerly known as the Vios Cup), happening at the Clark International Speedway (CIS) in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga on September 28, Saturday.

The one-make race is on its 10th season, starting in 2014 and showcasing the track racing capabilities of the country’s most popular Toyota Vios subcompact sedan in its OMR form.

As with the previous leg, the second leg of the TGR Philippine Cup will feature two kinds of race formats–the Sprint Race which is a 12-lap or 30-minute race, and the Endurance Race which is a one hour and 30 minute race. Each race format has four categories which are the Novice Class, Promotional Class, Sporting Class and Super Sporting Class.

Also like the previous leg, TMP President Masando Hashimoto himself will be participating in the Novice Class together with racers who have graduated from the Media and Influencer Autocross Challenge from previous race seasons.

Team TGR Philippines racers Ryan Agoncillo and Troy Montero will also be returning to the track in the Sporting Class and Super Sporting Class, respectively. Also joining them this weekend in the Sporting Class is a new member of Team TGR Philippines–Kody Ng, who was selected through a driver tryout. They will be competing against seasoned racers from top racing teams in the country.

A drifting exhibition will also be held featuring the Toyota GR 86, driven by professional drifters. Lucky audience members can also get the opportunity to ride shotgun during the exhibition. Meanwhile, Toyota car club members will be able to experience their GR performance cars in an exclusive track day.

Visitors at the race can also enjoy freebies which will be up for grabs during the event, or shop official GR merchandise, immerse in the latest GR models which will be on display, and enjoy the live performance of a musical guest who will be holding a special live stage to round off the weekend.

TMP Vice President for Marketing Services Department Mr. Elvin Luciano shares, “The fun never stops with Toyota Gazoo Racing! As we continue to help develop motorsports in the country through events such as the TGR Philippine Cup, we hope fans find more reasons to enjoy and experience for themselves the thrill of the track,” said TMP Marketing Services Department Vice President Elvin Luciano.
