We want to take these F1 Lego-build cars out for a spin on the track too

Just look at the smile on Lando Norris’s face in the above photo, we’re sure he had lots of fun driving the Lego F1 car as did everyone else.

Built in partnership between Formula 1 and Lego, the 10 fully drivable almost 1:1 scale Lego cars were taken out on a spin around the Miami International Autodrome as part of the Miami Grand Prix Driver’s Parade.

All 20 F1 drivers were able to take a lap in their teams’ respective Lego cars which are inspired by the Lego F1 Speed Champions range.

Some did get some damage due to some “wheel-to-wheel action” (check out this video) but they were assembled with nearly 400,000 Lego bricks and have over 22,000 combined hours of development and construction. They weigh in at approximately 1,500kg, and can be driven at speeds of up to 20kph, while riding on Pirelli soft racing tires.

With the Miami Grand Prix concluded, these Lego-built F1 cars will head on a world tour, with appearances at upcoming F1 races and activities included. We don’t know about you, but we’d definitely want to experience driving one of these quirky things.
