The Geely EX5 EM-i has been teased for PH, launches this Q1 2026

Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) is working hard to win back its customers through various programs and initiatives, and most importantly, new models. That includes the EX5 EM-i which has just been teased on the brand’s social media pages.
Confirmed to be launching within the first quarter of this year, the EX5 EM-i is essentially the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the fully electric EX5 compact crossover, which currently goes against the BYD Atto 3 and Tesla Model Y. The EX5 EM-i, on the other hand, will compete with the very popular BYD Sealion 6 DM-i.
Distinguishing the EX5 EM-i from the electric EX5 won’t be difficult as the two are very well set apart from each other, obviously starting with the powertrain.

When launched here, we can expect it to be powered by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 99 horsepower and 125Nm of torque, combined with an electric motor that produces 218 horsepower and 262Nm. The motors are paired to an 18.4kWh LFP battery, providing an all-electric range of up to 83km or a combined range of up to 943km.

The EX5 EM-i also gets a revised exterior look, particularly in front which features slim daytime running lights, connected by a light bar, with separated headlight units lower into the more sculpted bumper. The taillights get a different light signature, and the tailgate spoiler gets a more aerodynamic design.
It remains identical to the EV version inside, keeping the minimalist design, high center console, large central infotainment screen, and two-spoke steering wheel. It also keeps the 16-speaker Flyme audio system.
Pricing for the Geely EX5 EM-i has not yet been announced. And with the launch confirmed for the first quarter of the year, it can happen anytime from the time of this writing, until March 2026.
