The 6-seater Tesla Model Y L has been previewed in PH with a Php 2.849M starting price

Options for current three-row gasoline- and diesel-powered SUV owners who are considering going full electric are rather limited, but there is one additional option that has just launched in our market.
Meet the Tesla Model Y L, essentially a three-row version of the Model Y, the brand’s bestselling offering not only in the Philippines, but the entire world. Its arrival comes at the right time too, with fuel prices at an all-time high, making it an even more enticing option.
Design-wise, it may look like any other Model Y on the road today. There are a few key differences, though.

For starters, it measures 179mm longer than the standard Model Y at 4,969mm of length, rides on a 150mm longer wheelbase, now measuring at 3,040mm, along with a higher and extended roof which now reaches further back into the tailgate. This is obviously to provide extra room for a third row of seats, bringing capacity up to either six occupants, including the driver.

The second row features a pair of individual seats with electric armrests that can retract, power adjustment and folding functions, and heating and ventilation. Meanwhile, the added third row can accommodate two occupants, and has power recline and folding functions as well.

Pillar-mounted climate vents have been added for the second and third rows, on top of the electrically adjustable center climate vents in the second row. Other differences include larger rear quarter windows, unique 19-inch Machina 2.0 wheels, and a ducktail spoiler for added aerodynamics. Carrying over from the regular Model Y are a 16-inch central touchscreen, a 19-speaker audio system, black headliner, and panoramic glass roof.

As for its powertrain, the Model Y L is exclusively available in Long Range AWD guise, getting the same dual-motor setup as the Model Y Premium Long Range AWD variant. This is good for 514 horsepower, and a range of up to 681km with its 88.20kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery. Tesla also says it can go from 0 to 100kph in just five seconds.
Standard advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) equipment under Tesla’s Basic Autopilot are Traffic-Aware (adaptive) cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind-spot collision warning, and lane departure avoidance.
Once it’s available to ship in Q2 2026, pricing for the Tesla Model Y L in the Philippines starts at Php 2,849,000. This would feature a Pearl White Multi-Coat exterior paint job, an all-black interior, and everything else mentioned above.

As for other options, just like with the other Tesla models, choosing a Diamond Black paint job will cost an additional Php 66,000, and Stealth Grey or Glacier Blue for Php 99,000, and Cosmic Silver or Ultra Red for Php 146,000. A two-tone Black and White interior will also cost an additional Php 66,000.
Enhanced Autopilot, featuring Autosteer, Auto Lane Change, Autopark (self-parking), Actually Smart Summon (ASS), and Dumb Summon, will set you back an additional Php 197,000. Finally, Full Self-Driving (FSD) Capability, which is not yet available for use in our country, can be added for Php 394,000.
With strong demand for the Tesla Model Y since it launched in our market last year, do you think the Model Y L will help the American automaker comfortably sustain its almost top spot in Philippine EV sales?
