The Changan Eado Plus is one of the most affordable sedans in PH, price starts at Php 699K

When the Changan brand launched in the Philippines in 2020 under its previous distributor, it had the Alsvin, a small subcompact sedan that was its most affordable offering. Discontinued last year after the brand exhausted its remaining stocks, it competed with the likes of the Suzuki Dzire and Kia Soluto.
The Chinese automaker is returning to the affordable sedan game as it officially introduces the Eado Plus as its new and most affordable sedan offering in our market. It is good to note that launched is the second generation of the Eado Plus, and not the newer third generation which is essentially a pure ICE version of the Nevo A05, probably done to cater to different market segments. Regardless, it’s quite interesting.

Pricing starts at Php 750,000 for the Lite variant, while the Luxe variant is priced at Php 799,000. Changan Philippines is also offering it with introductory prices of Php 699,000 and Php 749,999, respectively, until April 30, 2026.
Design-wise, it certainly doesn’t look as affordable as it is with a sleek and premium-looking exterior. A large front grille dominates the front fascia, flanked by halogen projector headlights with LED DRLs. The rear features what Changan describes as “winged” LED taillights.

Inside, it’s typical of Changan vehicles with a sleek dashboard. There’s a three-spoke steering wheel, a single panel that houses the infotainment screen and 10.25-inch segmented LCD instrument cluster, and piano key-style buttons for different functions.
Setting apart the two variants from each other are 16-inch steel wheels, mechanical gear lever, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a two-speaker audio system on the Lite. The Luxe gets a larger 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a four-speaker audio system, automatic climate control, rear climate vents, and an electronic gear selector.

Common to both variants are fabric seat upholstery, manually-adjustable front seats, and exterior color options of White, Black, Andean Gray, and Titanium Silver Gray.
Also common to both is what’s under the hood. The Changan Eado Plus is powered by a 1.5-liter Bluecore naturally-aspirated gasoline engine that makes 105 horsepower and 145Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). The Luxe also gets the choice of Eco or Normal driving modes.

The features and specifications of the Changan Eado Plus definitely look enticing for its price. Do you think this has what it takes to gain traction in a very competitive segment, especially in this age of electrification?
