MIAS 2026 | Changan PH launches all-new CS35 Max, previews updated CS55 Plus

Fresh from the local launch of its new entry-level Eado Plus compact sedan, Changan Philippines, under the distributorship of Inchcape Philippines, is keeping the momentum up for the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) as it launches and previews some new products.

Joining the Chinese automaker’s local lineup is the all-new CS35 Max compact crossover which has made its formal launch, and to join soon is the updated version of the CS55 Plus compact crossover which is being previewed to the public.

Let’s start with the all-new Changan CS35 Max, the successor to the CS35 Plus, and what is also known in China as the X5 Plus or simply as X5. It gets two variants–the Lite, priced at Php 1,109,999, and the Luxe which is priced at Php 1,199,999.

The all-new CS35 Max is significantly larger than the CS35 Plus, measuring at 4,490mm long and 1,860mm wide, but is lower at 1,580mm tall. It follows a completely different direction in terms of design as well, getting a much sleeker and much more aggressive exterior with sharper and more angular lines, a large pentagonal grille dominating the front fascia, and an overall shape that’s less boxy than before. Meanwhile, its interior is also reminiscent of most Changan products, including the previous CS35 Plus.

Standard features on both variants are LED exterior lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For other equipment, the Lite gets fabric seats, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, four-speaker audio system, a power sunroof, and automatic climate control. Exclusive to the Luxe are leather seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, six-speaker audio system, LED interior reading lights, and a panoramic sunroof.

Under the hood of both the CS35 Max Lite and Luxe is a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder Bluecore engine that produces 182 horsepower and 300Nm of torque which Changan Philippines describes as “mighty” in their press release, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

As for the new Changan CS55 Plus, this is targeted to launch in the Philippines within the second half of this year. And while it maintains the same basic overall shape, it receives major redesigns inside and out, as well as a plug-in hybrid powertrain instead of a turbocharged pure-ICE powertrain.

Its front fascia is more upright and in-your-face with a wide front grille that’s surrounded by vertical headlights and a horizontal light bar. It rides on redesigned alloy wheels, and the taillights have been extended inwards to form an almost light bar.

The interior also gets a revised dashboard and door panel design, forming somewhat of a wraparound look, along with larger screens and repositioned air vents, and a cleaner center console layout.

That’s all we know about the new Changan CS55 Plus for now, but what’s a bit interesting is Changan Philippines’ mention of this model becoming the brand’s primary plug-in hybrid offering in the future, possibly hinting at this becoming their flagship PHEV offering.

But anyway, if you want to see in the metal the all-new Changan CS35 Max, new CS55 Plus, and even the recently launched Eado Plus which is also being showcased, they’re all present at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show which is happening at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City until April 12, 2026 (Sunday).
