MIAS 2026 | Deepal shows off its initial lineup for the PH

We know that the Autohub Group has been appointed as the exclusive distributor of Deepal in the Philippines, and here, at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show, we finally get to see what the newest Chinese brand has for our market.

Deepal, the premium arm of Changan (just like Lexus to Toyota), focuses on New Energy Vehicles, a term commonly associated with hybrids, plug-in/range extended electric vehicles, or battery electric vehicles.

And for our country, we are seeing three models for its launch offerings. This starts with the S05 REEV (range extended electric vehicle), the S05 BEV, and the G318 REEV SUV.

The S05 is a compact crossover, meaning it will compete with the likes of the ever-popular BYD Sealion 6 and Geely EX5. The REEV model is priced at Php 1,688,000, with the BEV model following later this year with an indicative price of Php 1,588,000.

The Deepal S05 features a sleek design with a drag coefficient of 0.25, with LED lighting front and back, 20-inch wheels, and a two-tone leather interior with a 15.4-inch infotainment system that can be tilted by 15 degrees to the driver or passenger, a 53-inch heads-up display, a 50W wireless charger, and the Deepal OS powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip that allows for advanced driver assistance systems and more.

The Deepal S05 REEV has a 1.5-liter engine acting as a generator for the 27.28kWh LFP battery. It has a pure electric range of 170km, or a combined range of 1,234km. Meanwhile, the electric motor has a power output of 215 horsepower and 320Nm of torque.

The BEV variant comes in rear wheel drive with 235 horsepower and 320Nm of torque, with a 56.12kWh LFP battery good for up to 458km (WLTP). It takes 15 minutes to charge the battery from 30 to 80% via DC fast charging, and 7-8 hourse via AC fast charging.

As for the G318 REEV, this range-extended EV SUV is specifically targeted for the off-roading crowd. It’s priced at Php 2,600,000, and this boxy off-road SUV has an intimidating presence with its large amount of plastic cladding, chunky tires, functional roof rails, and an extra spare tire with a swing-out tailgate.

The interior is surprisingly plush, with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch touchscreen, a 16-speaker sound system, premium materials for upholstery, seat heating, ventilation, and massaging, wireless charging, and the same Deepal OS powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, complete with more sensors for the advanced driver assistance systems.

This has a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates power for its 35.07 kWh battery. This can drive up to 160km on pure electric power, or at least 1,000km of combined range.

Two electric motors push out a combined power output of 430 horsepower and 572Nm of torque, and also support off-road oriented features like a center differential lock and mechanical differential lock, alongside terrain modes, and an air suspension allowing for up to 278mm of ground clearance.

The Deepal S07 was also previewed at the show, and is aimed to be the brand’s premium crossover offering once it comes later this year.

What do you think about Deepal Philippines’ initial offerings, and are they enticing enough to consider over the likes of BYD or Denza, especially with how this is the premium offering of Changan?
