MG Motor PH teases new MG 4 EV, RX9 PHEV, HS PHEV for PIMS 2026

The 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) is happening very soon, less than two weeks from the time of this writing. As we inch closer, more and more participating brands are previewing and teasing on social media what they plan to showcase at the four-day motor show.
MG Motor Philippines is one of them, teasing a trio of models that could make their local debut. Based on the photo teaser, these are (from left to right) the all-new MG 4, the MG RX9, and the MG HS PHEV.
What can we expect from these models?

Let’s start with the MG 4 which is the brand’s fully electric hatchback offering. Possibly coming in one variant–the Urban–this will be powered by a single front-mounted electric motor that produces 163 horsepower and 250Nm of torque. A 42.8kWh LFP battery allows for 325km of range on a single charge.
Features that the MG 4 Urban could have in our market include 16-inch alloy wheels with aero covers, LED exterior lighting, a seven-inch TFT display for the driver, a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and synthetic leather seat upholstery.

Moving on, the second model is the three-row MG RX9 midsize SUV. Based on available information, this will have a plug-in hybrid powertrain composed of a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that’s capable of producing a combined 328 horsepower. A 24.7kWh LFP battery allows for up to 100km of all-electric range on a full charge.
Features that the MG RX9 could get when it arrives here include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, and second-row captain seats. You can read more about the MG RX9 here.

Last but not the least is the MG HS which could be getting a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant. We already have the hybrid variant in our market, and just like that one, the HS PHEV could get a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine making 143 horsepower and 230Nm of torque. It is however paired to a more powerful electric motor producing 184 horsepower and 340Nm, as well as a larger 21.6kWh LFP battery.

Features could also remain similar to the hybrid version, having 19-inch wheels, LED exterior lighting, dual 12.3-inch screens for the driver’s instrument cluster and infotainment system, along with leather seat upholstery and the MG Pilot suite of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS).
MG Motor Philippines seems to be pulling quite the aggressive move with these three models, especially after launching two new models just recently at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show. Do you think the Sino-British brand will be successful with these three future offerings, on top of their other new products in our market?
