Check out these gorgeous Mazda x Spingle driving shoes

Automotive collaboration shoes aren’t a new thing. We see them from the likes of Puma, Adidas, and others for usually motorsports-related collaborations. In Japan, Nissan has collaborated with the Japanese driving shoe brand Negroni, and Mazda has collaborated with lifestyle shoe brand Spingle, whose ties actually run deep as they’re both made in Hiroshima.

Their first collaboration was the SP-MX5, a driving shoe that’s inspired by the iconic Mazda Roadster (MX-5). However, these shoes weren’t for everyone as they came in very bright, eccentric colors that did match the Roadster’s colors, but not so much an outfit.

The two brands’ second collaboration, the SP-MZD, is a much more refined and subdued design that should match not only more outfits but also be more thematic for other Mazda owners, too.

Available in two different colors, Sport Tan/Black and Black/Black, these two colors can actually be found in the interior of the new CX-5. The subtle curves and stitching are also a nod to Mazda’s Kodo design language.

The materials include soft and flexible kangaroo leather, alongside suede accents that frame the rubber sole that extends all the way to the back for easy heel-and-toe and better driving feel, all without compromising the shoes’ walkability— something that most driving shoes aren’t good with.

And if you do get these shoes, you wouldn’t want to throw the shoe box away, as it comes with a special sketch of the shoe made by one of Mazda’s car designers, making it one heck of a collectible.

These shoes are thankfully not a limited release, but you can only get them within Japan at physical Spingle stores, Isetan Shinjuku, or Mazda’s Online Goods shop (which offers a buy-and-ship service internationally at additional cost), and these cost 26,500 JPY, or roughly Php 10,250.
