What are the chances of a Mitsubishi Xforce HEV launch at PIMS 2026?

It’s no longer a secret that Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) will be showcasing the Outlander PHEV at the upcoming 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). And if you read our report on that, you already know that it may not be the only new model to be shown off at the four-day motor show.

That’s because MMPC’s key visual shows the Outlander PHEV’s reflection as an Xforce. And while the subcompact crossover has been available in our market for some time now, we think that the only good reason for it to be included in the key visual is that we’ll be seeing the Xforce HEV.
The electrified variant of the subcompact crossover could finally be making its Philippine debut, and if so, it will be powered by Mitsubishi’s e:Motion hybrid system.

This combines a 1.6-liter four-cylinder DOHC MIVEC gasoline engine that’s called the 4A92, and produces 107 horsepower and 134Nm of torque on its own. This is boosted by an electric motor that makes 116 horsepower and 255Nm of torque, and a lithium-ion battery.
With those figures, we’re expecting improved fuel economy and better performance, especially since the current 4A91 engine, the sole engine option for the local spec Xforce, is not exactly the quickest.

In addition, if launched here, we can expect the Mitsubishi Xforce HEV to be set apart from the standard Xforce with a slightly more rugged front and rear bumper design, HEV badging, silver front grille accents, clear taillight lenses, its own unique set of 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, and an electronic gear selector.
But what are the chances that the vehicle shown in the teaser image is indeed the Mitsubishi Xforce HEV?

A source from Mitsubishi Motors Philippines previously mentioned to us that the e:Motion hybrid system was developed to cater to the Thai market, meeting requirements for a government program. At the time, it was also said to be designed for right-hand drive models only and has not yet been optimized for left-hand drive markets.
A lot of things could change in a few months, and we can say there’s a 50/50 chance. It may not be 100%, but 50% is still a chance. If the Mitsubishi Xforce HEV is indeed coming, then it’s surely going to be a huge boost to the subcompact crossover which isn’t selling as well as it deserves.
