Ford PH brings turbodiesel V6 engine, new variants for 2027 Ranger and Everest line

While electrified vehicle sales continue to grow in the Philippines, especially with the fluctuating prices of fuel, there is no doubt that demand remains strong for more traditional combustion vehicles, especially diesel-powered pickup trucks and SUVs.

Ford Philippines knows this and has updated two of its most popular offerings in our market—the Ranger and Everest twins—which get updated powertrains and a few cosmetic changes.

What we would say is the most important change for the two models lies underneath the hood. Replacing the previous 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel is a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo diesel engine.

This new powertrain option is available for higher trims, and produces 250 horsepower and 600Nm of torque, increases of 40 horsepower and 100Nm compared to the older engine, and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission

Other variants now get an updated 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine that still makes 170 horsepower and 405Nm of torque. The six-speed automatic transmission has been replaced with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and more importantly, it has been updated with a new timing chain replacing the previous wet belt, and updated fuel injection system.

Coming with the new and updated powertrains, both the Ford Ranger and Everest get some cosmetic updates. Most obvious are the updated Ford emblem with white replacing chrome touches, along with updated alloy wheel designs. But more than those, the variant lineups for both the Ford Ranger and Everest have also been updated.

For the Ranger, the Wildtrak 4×4 variant has been updated with the V6 engine and is now known as the 3.0 V6 Wildtrak 4×4. Cosmetic updates include a new grille center bar with Ignite Orange accents, new 18-inch alloy wheels and a black Wildtrak sports hoop, new seat patterns, ambient lighting, and more Ignite Orange accents inside.

New is the 3.0 V6 Wildtrak-X 4×4 variant which gets additional ground clearance, auxiliary LED lights on the front grille, unique 17-inch Wildtrak X alloy wheels with General Grabber all-terrain tires, Bilstein dampers, metal underbody protection, bash and skid plates, a 12.4-inch instrument cluster, and a 10-speaker B&O sound system.

Meanwhile, the Ford Ranger Raptor V6 has also received a price bump. The two new variants, and the Raptor V6, are priced as follows:

  • Ranger 3.0 V6 Wildtrak 4×4 – Php 2,469,000
  • Ranger 3.0 V6 Wildtrak-X 4×4 – Php 2,609,000
  • Ranger Raptor 3.0 V6 4×4 – Php 2,879,000 (+Php 80,000)

Meanwhile, the Ford Everest gets a revamped lineup. It now starts with the 2.0 Active 4×2 which brings features previously exclusive to higher Everest trims, including a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system and additional safety technologies like Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and Forward Collision Warning

This is followed by the 2.0 Sport+ 4×2 that adds new 20-inch alloy wheels, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function and Lane Centering, a 360-degree camera, and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert and Braking. Moving further up, is the new 2.0 Wildtrak 4×4 which adds rugged touches with 20-inch alloy wheels, Ignite Orange exterior accents, and Wildtrak trims inside.

Now sitting on top of the range is the 3.0 V6 Platinum 4×4 which is one that has been very much anticipated since the current generation was first launched. This comes with exclusive quilted leather seats, a blacked-out roof, heated and ventilated front seats, and a 12-speaker B&O sound system, and 21-inch alloy wheels, among others.

  • Everest 2.0 Active 4×2 – Php 1,949,000
  • Everest 2.0 Sport+ 4×2 – Php 2,219,000
  • Everest 2.0 Wildtrak 4×4 – Php 2,669,000
  • Everest 3.0 V6 Platinum 4×4 – Php 2,849,000

The introduction of the new V6 powertrains for the Ford Ranger and Everest is proof that Ford Philippines certainly listens to its customers. Do you think the added choice, new variants, and different updates are all enough to help the two models sustain their popularity, especially in this day and age of electrification?
