2022 Toyota Avanza spotted in Manila before launch

Just two days ago, we reported that Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has confirmed that the all-new next-generation Toyota Avanza will be launched on March 7. Now, a few moments ago, we spotted two units of the next generation of the popular compact 7-seater MPV are already making their way to local Toyota dealerships.

While Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has not confirmed or announced any of the upcoming model’s features and equipment, they did say that specifications will be released on their official website soon. They’ve also somewhat announced pricing which will start at Php 813,000. That’s Php 70,000 more than the current base Toyota Avanza 1.3 J M/T. Nevertheless, our sighting gives us an idea of what the new model will look like once launched locally.

All-new for 2022, the Toyota Avanza is now built on a new unibody platform and features a completely redesigned exterior and interior. For now, let’s talk about what we can see on the exterior. Based on our photos, we’re assuming that we spotted the mid-grade 1.3 E variant based on the wheel design which are probably 15-inch alloys. Also visible are what could be power-folding mirrors with turn indicators.

For what’s under the hood, we can expect the all-new Toyota Avanza to be powered by choices of a 1.3 L or 1.5 L gasoline engines. The former may produce an output of 90 hp and 121 Nm of torque while the latter, 106 hp and 137 Nm. Transmission options are likely to be a 5-speed manual or CVT.

Again, it won’t be long before the all-new Toyota Avanza is launched in the country. If you’re already planning to make a reservation, Toyota dealerships will start accepting on the 1st day of March. Also, pricing is confirmed to start at Php 813,000 for the base model.
