It will still be available in other markets as the Honda Legend.

Acura, the luxury division of Japanese automaker Honda will be discontinuing its RLX mid-size luxury sedan in North America. For other markets, it will continue to be sold by Honda as the Legend.

The news was made known from a communication from Honda to its North American dealership network where it said that it will no longer be imported from Japan. Honda also said in an email to Automotive News, “With SUVs leading the luxury market, the highly successful RDX and MDX now serve as volume leaders of the Acura brand, at the same time, we will further strengthen our sports sedans, consistent with the performance-focused direction we have been taking Acura over the past four years.”

In fact, the RDX and MDX SUVs have a combined sales figure of over 115,000 vehicles in 2019. The RLX on the other hand only sold a total of 1,019 vehicles in the same year.

The Acura RLX was once also available in the Philippine-market as the Honda Legend. Launched in 2015, it offered several creature comforts, features, and other modern technology that could only be found in luxury brands. Unfortunately its sales was also discontinued in our market in 2018 at around the same time as the Pilot SUV.
