MIAS 2026 | BYD Atto 2 and Sealion 7 previewed in PH, both launching this year

BYD Cars Philippines is not slowing down. After gaining the top spot in electrified vehicle sales last year, the Chinese automaker is continuing its expansion in our market, previewing two new models set to join their lineup this year.

Say hello to the BYD Atto 2 and BYD Sealion 7, both fully electric crossovers that are making their first local appearance at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), and here’s what we know so far.

Starting with the Atto 2, this is set to become the brand’s entry-level fully electric crossover for our market, sitting below the Atto 3. It measures 4,310mm long, 1,830mm wide, and 1,675mm tall, and rides on a 2,620mm wheelbase.

Based on available information, it could come in two variants—Dynamic and Premium—once it’s launched locally. The former will get a single electric motor producing 95 horsepower and 180Nm of torque, paired to a 32kWh LFP battery for a driving range of up to 280km. Meanwhile, the latter’s motor is boosted up to 177 horsepower and 290Nm, with a larger 45kWh LFP battery allowing for up to 380km of range.

Features could include LED lighting, 16-inch alloy wheels, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, six-speaker audio system, and synthetic leather upholstery.

As for the Sealion 7, this sits on the more premium side of the spectrum, likely aiming for the likes of Tesla Model Y and Toyota bZ4X. This is clearly visible from its fastback-like design, and overall looks which is largely similar to what’s seen on the Seal midsize sports sedan.

Available information to us says that this could come in a sole AWD Performance variant, indicating a possible more niche market positioning.

It may come powered by dual electric motors mounted on the front and rear axles, producing a combined 390 horsepower and 690Nm of torque, with a 0 to 100kph acceleration time of 4.5 seconds and top speed of 215kph. An 82.56kWh LFP battery will allow it to drive up to 456km on a single charge

We can expect features such as 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, electric door handles, soundproof glass, leather seat upholstery, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, a Dynaudio sound system, and a suite of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS), just to name a few.

Final specifications and pricing for these two models are not yet available as of this writing, but it’s highly likely for them to formally make their launch within the coming months. One thing’s for sure, BYD is set for another strong year, especially with the rising costs of fuel in the past weeks.

If you want to see these future BYD offerings in the metal, you can check them out at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show which is happening at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City until April 12, 2026 (Sunday).
