MIAS 2026 | Geely Motor PH opens reservations for the all-electric EX2 hatchback

Geely Motor Philippines (GMP) is using the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) to flex its newest available product in our market, the all-new plug-in hybrid Geely EX5 EM-i which is positioned to compete with the very popular BYD Sealion 6 DM-i. More importantly, they also previewed the Geely EX2 which will be coming to the Philippines soon.
It looks like GMP is really aiming to steal sales from BYD as the Geely EX2 will be competing directly with the BYD Seagull, the country’s bestselling battery electric vehicle (BEV) in 2025.
Set to become the Chinese automaker’s second BEV offering in our market, reservations have officially been opened to those who are interested. A bit of information on this hatchback have also been confirmed, such as its powertrain which is a rear-mounted single electric motor that’s capable of 116 horsepower and 150Nm of torque, paired to a 39.4kWh LFP battery that allows it to drive for up to 325km on a single charge.

GMP also confirmed that the EX2 will run on Flyme Auto with its 14.6-inch central touchscreen unit and 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. It will also come with Level-2 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning.

While unconfirmed, other sources also tell us that it will come in Pro and Max variants once it launches. Pricing is also not yet available but considering that reservations have been opened, we won’t have to wait too long.
If you want to see in the metal the all-new Geely EX2, it’s present at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show, happening at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City until April 12, 2026 (Sunday). Do you think it will have what it takes to steal sales from the BYD Seagull?
