Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is certainly trying to be ahead of the race against the local arrival of the all-new Toyota Wigo as they launch today the refreshed version of their Brio subcompact hatchback, alongside the updated Honda City.

The current generation Brio has always been one of Honda’s most popular models in the Philippine market ever since it was launched in 2019, making it an extremely important model for the Japanese automaker here. With this update, it gets some exterior and interior enhancements aimed to keep it fresh amidst new competition.

Like before, the 2024 Honda Brio is available in four variants across three model grades: 1.2 S M/T, 1.2 V CVT, 1.2 RS CVT, and 1.2 RS Black Top CVT. Pricing for each one can be read before the end of this article.

In terms of looks, the 2024 Honda Brio gets new front grille designs per variant and a new front bumper for a sleeker and sportier look. There are also new and updated alloy wheel designs, and enhancements to its infotainment system.

Standard exterior features starting from the 1.2 S M/T variant are halogen headlights, 14-inch steel wheels with hubcaps, honeycomb front grille with chrome trim, and bulb-type taillights. Moving up to the 1.2 V CVT adds 14-inch alloy wheels and LED daytime running lights. Going for the 1.2 RS CVT will give LED headlights, 15-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, RS design front grille, power folding side mirrors, and a tailgate spoiler.

New exterior color options are Stellar Diamond Pearl on RS and RS Black Top variants; and Electric Lime Metallic on RS Black Top and V variants. Other color options are Phoenix Orange Pearl on RS Black Top; Meteoroid Gray Metallic on RS, V, and S; Rallye Red on V; and Taffeta White on V and S.

Meanwhile, standard interior starting from the base 1.2 S M/T are fabric seats with fixed headrest, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 4-speaker audio system, digital climate controls, and a urethane steering wheel. Moving up to the 1.2 V CVT adds steering wheel controls, vanity mirrors, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Finally, going for the top-spec 1.2 RS CVT adds fabric seats with red accent and adjustable head rest, 6-speaker audio system, RS Design instrument cluster, red interior trim, and metal door handle trim.

The refreshed Honda Brio remains powered by the same 1.2-liter Inline 4-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 90 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque, paired to 5-speed manual transmission or an Earth Dreams continuously variable transmission (CVT).

As for its safety features, the Honda Brio gets dual front airbags, anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, and rear parking sensors as standard on all variants.

Pricing for the 2024 Honda Brio is as follows:

  • 1.2 S M/T: Php 735,000
  • 1.2 V CVT: Php 827,000
  • 1.2 RS CVT: Php 853,000
  • 1.2 RS Black Top CVT: Php 863,000

As with other Honda models available locally, buyers will be able to take advantage of a 3-year or 100,000 km (whichever comes first) vehicle warranty.
