The 2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup is postponed indefinitely

After a successful first leg held at the Riverpark, Cavite last March 13-15, 2026, things are taking a different turn for the 2026 season of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup.

Its organizers, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) and Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippines have announced that the annual motorsports event, one of the largest in the country, is suspended until further notice.

This comes after the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) announced that it will temporarily be putting on hold the issuance of organizing permits for all AAP-sanctioned motorsports events, following the declaration of Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. of a State of National Emergency from the ongoing fuel crisis.

TMP and TGR Philippines’ statement reads as follows:

The TGR Philippine Cup isn’t the only local motorsports event currently on hold. The Philippine National Rally Series has also announced that the event will be suspended until further notice, originally set to be held on March 27-28, 2026.

While this is definitely sad news for the local motorsports community, these are good moves given the current global situation. Hopefully things get better soon and everything can go back to normal.
