The Tesla Model 3 Premium AWD variant has been discontinued in PH

If you’re following our social media pages and website, you’ve probably seen the news about some updates done to the Tesla Model Y, the American automaker’s most popular offering in our market. Although, it’s not the only one to get some changes.
A little bit of not so difficult digging has revealed that the Model 3 midsize sports sedan has also received an update, its second for this year, albeit a minor one that does not involve the addition of anything new.
What exactly? Well, its Premium Long Range AWD variant has been discontinued. This trims the lineup down to four variants in our market, starting with the entry-level Standard RWD, followed by the Premium RWD, Premium Long Range RWD, and the Performance AWD which is now the lone all-wheel drive variant for the sports sedan in our market.

This move is also likely in favor of simplification as the Premium Long Range RWD variant which was introduced back in January, offers more driving range than the Premium Long Range AWD at up to 750km versus just 660km, and is also more affordable at a retail price of Php 2,343,000 following the removal of the front electric motor and premium 15-speaker sound system.
We don’t know the real reason behind Tesla’s decision to discontinue its only non-Performance variant for the Model 3 with an all-wheel drive drivetrain in the Philippines, but it’s an interesting move regardless. Will you miss the Tesla Model 3 Premium Long Range AWD, or do you think the Premium Long Range RWD will suffice?
