Toyota’s hybrid V8-powered GR GT halo car is confirmed for PH

You may have already heard, but we just wanted to remind you about it.
Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has confirmed that our market is destined to get the GR GT, the brand’s flagship supercar, announced by the company’s Senior Vice President for Marketing Sherwin Chua-Lim during a press conference at the sidelines of the second race weekend of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup last July 11, 2026.
The GR GT was unveiled in production form last December 2025 and is the flagship model in the Japanese automaker’s performance-oriented Gazoo Racing (GR) lineup. In fact, it is the first model to only use the GR name without the Toyota branding.

Powering the GR GT is a 4.0-liter V8 twin turbo engine mated to a hybrid system, producing 650 horsepower and 850Nm of torque, sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Top speed is estimated at 320kph.

It’s the first all-aluminum bodied production vehicle from Toyota, and it’s designed to be very aerodynamic while wearing the brand’s signature Hammerhead design language, riding on 20-inch wheels that are wrapped in specially designed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. While we still don’t know when exactly Toyota Motor Philippines plans to officially launch the GR GT, its future introduction would mean that the Philippines will be one of the few markets in the world to receive the full Toyota Gazoo Racing lineup which includes the GR Yaris, GR Supra, GR 86, and GR Corolla.
