The second leg of the Toyota Gazoo Racing PH Cup resumes this July 11 with biofuels

Earlier this year, we saw most, if not all, AAP-sanctioned motorsports get postponed indefinitely due to the (ongoing) energy crisis brought about by the conflict in the Middle East. One of the race series that was affected by this was the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup, which saw its first leg take place at The Riverpark in Cavite last March 13-15, 2026.

However, if you’ve been following fuel prices recently, they’re mostly similar to before the crisis now, and that means that AAP-sanctioned race series can now make a return. The Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup is now returning for its second race weekend, happening this July 11 at Clark International Speedway, but with a slight twist.

The upcoming race weekend will revolve around the usage of alternative fuels, more specifically, biofuels. These alternative fuels will be used on all of the racecars present from the Vios OMRs to the Tamaraw OMRs, and Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines says that it will be treating this as a “real-world testing ground for the future of mobility”.
There will be more details regarding this in the near future, but this is exciting news for those who miss Philippine motorsports, and just as Toyota Motor Philippines says, it should also help accelerate the development of “cleaner and better ways forward” for mobility.
